The Great British Bake Off is back

By

On 2nd September, the nation dusted off its mixing bowls and whisks, as The Great British Bake Off returned to our screens on Channel 4. It’s the sixteenth series of this beloved favourite, full of signature bakes, technical challenges and showstoppers aplenty. If you fancy having a go at a victoria sponge, lemon drizzle or bread sculpture yourself, here’s our pick of the best baking kit. So what are you waiting for? On your marks, get set, bake!

Whether you’re making cakes, buns, biscuits or bread, British brands Mason Cash® and Kilner® have everything you need. For country kitchen-inspired bakeware that is as quintessentially British as the Bake Off itself, Mason Cash is an iconic brand synonymous with quality and heritage design. If you love a splash of colour in your kitchen, its Colour Mix Mixing Bowls are just the thing. Available in six colours – Turquoise, Powder Pink, Cream, Powder Blue, Red and Grey – in three sizes.

Its Cane Mixing Bowls are the true originals, designed to be light enough to hold in one arm while mixing, and sturdy enough to stay in place on the worktop. Available in 21cm, 24cm, 26cm and 29cm sizes.

We also love this vibrant Home to Roost Batter Bowl, which blends country charm with a joyful yellow colourway. With a pouring lip for transferring wet ingredients and cake mixes into baking tins, it’s ideal for mixing batter or eggs.

Take the guesswork out of measuring dry ingredients with these In the Meadow Measuring Spoons. The set includes four sizes – tablespoon, teaspoon, half teaspoon and quarter teaspoon – with a pretty flower detail on the handles.

Keen bread bakers will love the Kilner® Sourdough Starter Set, which includes two jars (allowing for a second batch to be created while the first is in use) and features a stainless steel measuring lid designed to measure out flour and water precisely. The how-to booklet is also really handy.

No Bake Off tent would be the same without the iconic KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer. Its Colour of the Year for 2025 is this mouthwatering Butter design, perfect for lifting any kitchen scheme. The 4.7L mixer comes with two stainless steel bowls, four accessories plus scraper and pouring shield.

For grating nutmeg, lemon, orange and lime zest, ginger and more, Microplane’s Container Grater has a non-slip base, coarse ultra-sharp stainless steel blade, 532ml storage container to catch the ingredients, airtight plastic lid to keep said ingredients fresh and a wooden lid.

Any professional chef will tell you that the key ingredient for any dish is a good knife. ZWILLING has you covered with its new Spectrum collection, comprising nine individually sold knives and knife block. The blades are made from special formula RCF steel with curved bolster and black Micarta handle for a safe and secure grip.

For cakes and baking, GreenPan’s new Reserve Bakeware has two layers of PFAS-free ceramic non-stick coating on durable aluminised steel that won’t warp or bend and heats up quickly and evenly to 230˚C in the oven. It also features gold PVD coated stainless steel handles and comes as a five-piece set with baking tray, roasting tray, round cake tin, loaf tin and six-cup muffin tin in Oxford Blue, Black or Pine Green.

The new Thermomix® TM7 from Vorkwerk takes smart cooking to a whole new level, as this intelligent multipurpose appliance can knead, chop, blend, stir, whip, sauté, emulsify, steam, sous-vide, heat, weigh and more. It has a 10inch HD touchscreen, whisper-quiet performance and open-lid cooking mode plus the Cookidoo® digital recipe portal with over 100,000 recipes, personalised meal planning, automated shopping lists and step-by-step cooking support.

Hokan Bowls are another must-have, whether for cooking, serving or storing leftovers. These multifunctional glazed stoneware designs are seriously stylish and ultra-practical. Safe to use in the oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, they are also dishwasher-proof – don’t use on the hob or under the grill though. As well as being durable and robust, they can also stack on top of each other to save space in the cupboard or fridge. We love the new colours – Pink and Baby Blue – and can’t wait to show off our baking skills in them.
