100% Design 2015 – What not to miss
Each year, 100% Design is a hotly anticipated design trade event, the largest in the UK, which attracts everyone from architects and designers to specifiers, contractors, retailers and press from around the world. Taking place from 23-26 September at London’s Olympia, the event will be opened by Ilse Crawford with a headline talk on Wednesday 23rd at 11am. Discussing design that engages with the senses, the iconic designer will head up an exciting programme of talks about how our lives can be influenced positively by design. All talks are free for registered visitors and you can register for entry now at: http://www.100percentdesign.co.uk/
As well as Ilse Crawford, key speakers this year include Winy Maas, Yves Béhar, Terence Woodgate and Lyndon Neri with a programme that studies colour trends as well as our senses and how design can create stimulating environments.
Addressing the demand for high-end design solutions, the Kitchens & Bathrooms sector will once again demonstrate quality innovation across components, materials, equipment and an effective use of space. Brands to watch include Abacus Manufacturing Group (stand number K360), Ad Mosaico (K680), bulthaup by Kitchen Architecture (K464), Foursteel (K590) and Ionic Stone (K574).
Additional highlights include…
The Cosentino Group on stand K270. To celebrate Silestone’s® 25-year anniversary, a new limited edition colour called Acqua Fraccaroli will be unveiled, which was created in collaboration with renowned Brazilian interior design architect Brunete Fraccaroli, who will attend the stand’s champagne reception on Wednesday at 11am. With a vibrant blue-green hue that stands out for its strength and freshness, this new colour has been inspired by the architect’s childhood memories, where strong, intense colours were always present. There will also be seven new Dekton colours to view.
HI-MACS® will also be adding the wow factor on stand K655 with another stunning stand design showcasing new products and ideas designed by the German studio Coast Office Architecture. Two organic ‘waves’ will rise out of the white floor, transforming the stand into a futuristic space-age display comprising office reception area and lounge. Two black reflective walls frame a corner of the space, giving the illusion of a three-dimensional, round form.
Premium Swiss appliance brand V-ZUG will be teaming up with luxury interiors company Krieder on stand K488. The 32sq m area will showcase the latest state-of-the-art appliances in a new kitchen display with a mix of metal and concrete finishes. The Combair SL 60 and Combair-Steam SL 60 are designed to complement premium kitchens thanks to the retractable handle design, which gives a sleek appearance to the fascia. It’s the first time these ovens will be presented in the UK and there will also be the chance to see an induction wok hob and Teppan Yaki hob, perfect for adding a theatrical touch to the kitchen.
