Autumn Kitchen Updates

It may have been a year to remember for so many reasons, but nothing takes away that September ‘back to school’ feeling, no matter how old you are and what path you’re on. With this in mind we thought we’d share some of the latest launches to give your kitchen a fresh new flavour for the wet and windy months ahead…

Adding to Smeg’s diverse range of state-of-the-art kitchen tech, the VIVOscreen connected ovens combine a bigger, full-colour display with all-new graphics, innovative new functions and greater ease of use. Navigating through the new display is simple thanks to full touch vertical and horizontal scrolling and by holding down on any item for three seconds, a pop up will appear to explain its function. There’s a My Recipes section where you can store up to 64 of your own favourites and a temperature probe that monitors food’s core temperature. But the USP has to be the fact that the ovens will join the SmegConnect smart range, so it works with the app allowing you to control your cooking on the move. Watch it in all its glory here:

Crafted for Roux Lifestyle and its director Michel Roux Jr in collaboration with Brit kitchen manufacturer Moores, this luxurious collection hones in on the functional aspects professional chefs love and expect. From integrated lighting to ingenious storage and a meticulously planned layout, The Roux Kitchen comes in a choice of modern classics including white or grey gloss and sand or vintage oak. The latest launch of the Prouve gloss range complements the current collection of organic woodgrain finishes and muted, understated colours perfectly. “When I’m cooking, the things that very much make a difference for me are great lighting, clever storage and a sensible layout,” explains Michel. “So they were the things I wanted to make sure we got absolutely right to create a professional kitchen for the home.”

With new and improved features and a striking Space Grey finish, this snazzy piece of kit offers an enhanced user interface, which links seamlessly with the new Kenwood World App, allowing home bakers to access hundreds of step-by-step recipes for any occasion. Each recipe also automatically programmes the Cooking Chef XL and it comes with built-in scales, food processor and thermoresist glass blender. Added benefits include Induction Cooking for the widest and most accurate temperature range of any mixer, SimpleTouch

Presets, CookAssist Touch Screen and a LightLift head for easy use.

Scavolini has teamed up with international design studio Rainlight Studio and its creative director Yorgo Lykouria to create BoxLife. This smart modular concept allows one space to transform from kitchen to an office, to a dining room, to a sleeping space – all within the same footprint. The idea is to conceal day-to-day elements when they are not in use, helping the space transition from one function to the next. For example, cupboards with single or double retractable doors in the kitchen can conceal up to four appliances, an additional sliding worktop, as well as multiple shelves and drawers. A living area can be hidden behind sliding doors, plus pocket doors pull across the stacked washing machine and dryer in the laundry area. In the sleeping space, there’s a choice between a double, single or bunk beds, which can be manual or motorised and the surrounding furniture is equipped with lighting and a wardrobe with pull-out racks, rails and shelving.

With nine stunning new shades available across its Richmond range cooker collection, the new palette follows extensive research into interior trends. Launched in celebration of its centenary year, the shades vary from statement red and teal to neutral grey and taupe. Features include the Proflex™ cavity splitter and a Zeus™Bluetooth® Connected Timer, allowing the oven timer to be controlled by a smartphone or tablet. Selected models also include Steam & Infuse™, in keeping with current consumer interest for steam cooking.

German contemporary kitchen furniture brand Pronorm has introduced a new super-matt door finish in Organic Platinum, a fashionable green-grey colour that offers an elegant nod to nature. It’s perfect for those who want to bring a fashionable note of green into their home in a contemporary way with an ultra matt door finish that is velvet-soft to the touch, but at the same time guarantees an anti-fingerprint and easy clean surface. The doors feature a UV coated lacquer with a protective layer that gives it high-resistance, hygienic and smear-free properties. Additional super-matt colours include Arctic White, Stratus Grey, Light Grey, Onyx Grey and Black.

If you’re thinking about updating your extraction, consider premium appliance brand Falmec, who has become the first and only specialist extraction appliance company in the UK and Ireland to be officially awarded Quiet Mark status. As a result, its exclusive collection of distinctive cooker hood appliances –  featuring the company’s patented Noise Reduction System NRS® technology – has just been selected and approved by the organisation to be highlighted in a dedicated section on the Quiet Mark website at

There are eight Falmec appliances in the NRS® collection now recognised with the Quiet Mark – Aria, Flipper, Gruppo Incasso, Lumina, Plane, Vela, Verso & Zenith.
