Deliciously Belgian Shrimp Cocktail recipe

Deliciously Belgian Shrimp Cocktail recipe – serves 4


  • 1 kg grey shrimps
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 lettuce
  • 4 dl of peanut oil
  • 4 eggs
  • Tepid Water
  • Chervil
  • Mustard
  • Vinegar
  • Seasoning
  • Whisky
  • Tomato Ketchup
  • Lemon
  • Parsley

Preparation time: 10 minutes


  1. Prepare the cocktail sauce by mixing 2 eggs, 1 tsp of mustard, 1 tsp of vinegar and 2 tbs of lukewarm water with a hand mixer in a tall container.
  2. Carefully add the oil until mayonnaise is formed.
  3. Mix 8 tbs of fresh mayonnaise with 2 tbs of whisky and 2 tbs of tomato ketchup.
  4. Boil the eggs for 6-7 minutes and cover them in cold water to stop the cooking process.
  5. Wash the lettuce and use the lettuce’s crispy heart.
  6. Dry the lettuce in a salad centrifuge and cut the eggs into quarters.
  7. Finely chop the salad leaves and cut the tomatoes into quarters.
  8. Arrange the salad and tomato cubes in a deep dish or glass
  9. Sprinkle some shrimps and pour some fresh cocktail sauce over the salad.
  10. Finish with a slice of lemon, chervil, parsley and season to taste.
