Now that summer is officially here, it’s the perfect time to start planning a few extra changes for the kitchen and the way we eat and drink outdoors. As we spend more time dining alfresco in the garden or taking a few days away from it all, use this chance to make that dream space a priority. BARISTA & CO HAVE YOUR COFFEE FIX SORTED
I was lucky enough to take part in a coffee masterclass with the lovely James and Louise at Barista & Co, where fresh, honest coffee is matched with the very best coffee-making products designed to suit every caffeine (and caffeine-free) addict. CAPLE UNVEILS NEW FRIDGE-FREEZER
The new freestanding RFF731 fridge-freezer from Caple looks ultra-smart with its stainless steel finish and metal handles. It’s also energy efficient too with an energy-saving display option as well as Eco and Holiday modes. Product manager Luke Shipway confirms: “We have designed the display on our new RFF731 with the option to be switched off to save energy, as and when required. This model features electronic touch controls and a Holiday mode, which enables you to run the freezer at full power while the fridge operates at a lower capacity when you’re taking a break from your home for business or leisure. In addition, our Eco mode is ideal for periods when you’re away or simply when you’re using this appliance less, as this provides the optimum temperature while saving power.” The right-hinged door is reversible to suit your kitchen layout while added benefits include a chiller drawer for meat and fish and a humidity-controlled fruit and vegetable compartment.

NOT JUST TAPS’ OZONE RANGE REMOVES OVER 99.99% OF VIRUSES
Not Just Taps has launched an Ozone tap collection, which produces Ozone water to provide natural anti-bacterial properties, removing over 99.99% of microbes and viruses. The ideal ‘chemical free’ sanitiser and oxidiser agent. O3 is 3,000 times more powerful than traditional oxidants such as chlorine. It has no toxicity issues and produces no by-products. The Ozone water from contemporary kitchen taps produces naturally cleansing water, cleaning hands and surfaces without chemicals. The tap is available in a sleek chrome finish and can help preserve food for up to three times’ longer, perfect for food with a short shelf life. It has a pull-out spray head and 360 degree rotating spout plus, as all water and natural anti-bacterial properties are provided through the same tap, it eliminates the need for hot water, saving on energy costs. With in-built, natural sanitiser it’s possible to wash up with cool ozone water, clean and wash down cups and glasses and wash through fruit and veg all without even firing up the boiler.
SAMSUNG x CASELY-HAYFORD
Iconic British fashion designer Charlie Casely-Hayford has teamed up with Samsung UK to create a series of limited edition garments to celebrate the launch of its new modular and customisable Bespoke Refrigerator range. Available in 14 colours with the option to combine duality with personalisation, the launch of the new Bespoke Refrigerator range was the inspiration for Charlie’s fashion brand Casely-Hayford’s new collection – fusing sleek design with boxed edges to create a selection of limited-edition, premium, ready-to-wear items.
SMEG INTRODUCES ALL-NEW SYMPHONY RANGE COOKERS
With a raft of updated features and a new aesthetic, Smeg’s new Symphony models will be available in 110cm and 90cm widths. Born from Smeg’s previous work with renowned Italian architect Guido Canali, Symphony’s design features cast iron pan supports, the new contemporary eclipse black glass doors and new full length handles and towel rails. Added benefits include a Circulaire fan function for even browning and being able to cook a starter, main and dessert without worrying about cross transference of smells and flavours. There’s a vapour clean function that will leave the oven clean and sparkling in up to 20 minutes while an all-new touch display has been added, allowing greater control over oven timings and up to six cooking functions, including an ‘Eco’ setting perfect for cooking smaller quantities.
BOSCH FRESHUP REFRESHES CLOTHES IN AN INSTANT
And now for something completely different. Bosch has created the world’s first device that dissolves odours from clothes without the use of water, solvents or detergents. FreshUp is a convenient and easy-to-use solution that freshens up clothes instantly. It works by harnessing the power of plasma to remove odour molecules and can be used on-the-go or at home, eliminating the ‘chair-drobe’ – the clothes that build up on the back of a chair, having been worn once or twice, and are in need of refreshing. The plasma in the FreshUp dissolves the bonds between odour molecules, breaking them down, unlike sprays which merely mask smells. Even tough odours such as cigarette smoke and body odour are removed, leaving clothes as if they have been hung outside to dry. As it uses plasma to dissolve odours rather than putting clothes through harsh cleaning processes, FreshUp is completely safe to use. This includes delicates such as silk, cashmere and wool, as well as items that normally require extra care, such as vintage pieces or dry-clean-only items. It fits easily into a small bag and is rechargeable with a standard micro-USB charger, with each charge lasting up to 60 minutes.
LOCHANNA LAUNCHES BROMPTON COLLECTION
British brand LochAnna Kitchens has launched its elegant Brompton collection, comprising a smooth five-piece Shaker door with narrow frame. It’s available in six natural shades – White, Dove Grey, Dust Grey, Graphite, Cashmere and Stone – all of which can be mixed and matched to create something truly unique. You can also enrich the design further with a range of accessories including curved end posts, pilasters and a working mantle. There’s also a new Lifestyle Larder with easy-access storage and a choice of four styles – a 1000mm Combi Larder, 1000mm Cleaning and Utility Larder, 600mm Easy Access Larder and 600mm Cleaning and Utility Larder.
