Healthy Eating Week

By

This week, 12-16 June, is the British Nutrition Foundation’s Healthy Eating Week, which aims to connect people, food and science to encourage us all to switch to a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. With food prices constantly on the up, the affordability of healthier meals may feel unattainable for many but there are plenty of ways you can make a change.

STAUB – FROM OVEN TO TABLE

Check out STAUB’S speciality-shaped ceramic and colourful cast iron cocottes to take healthy home-cooked dishes from oven to table. We love the ceramic pepper design, perfect for a chilli, while the Cherry Blossom cast iron cocottes come in 10cm, 20cm, 24cm and 26cm sizes, ideal for individual portions, mains, salads and sides.

ZWILLING LAUNCHES NEW AIR FRYER

Energy efficient, money saving and healthy, ZWILLING’s new Air Fryer is a 4 litre design perfect for no or low-fat dishes. With six pre-set programmes, intuitive operation and LED touch screen, it’s ideal for fish, meat, pizza, veg and more.

ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE

The brand also has your leftovers, batch cooking and packed lunches sorted with its FRESH & SAVE vacuum storages boxes and bags. Perfect for preparing salads and summer dishes ahead of time, these containers keep contents fresh for up to five times longer than non-vacuum storage when sealed with the vacuum pump (sold separately).

ZWILLING MULTI GRATER

For summer salads, use the ZWILLING Z-CUT collection, which includes a multi grater, tower grater, fine grater, mini grater, spiraliser and 2-in-1 and 5-in-1 peelers, all in a sleek grey finish. The multi grater shown below is also compatible with the vacuum storage boxes so you can grate straight into the container.

CUISINART HEALTHY COOKING

Invest in a gadget and appliance or two and you’ll have all you need to prepare deliciously healthy homemade meals and snacks. Air fryers for instance have become the must-have piece of kit, as not only can you cook with little or no fat or oil but you’ll also be saving energy and money by not using the main oven. Cuisinart has an Air Fryer Mini Oven, which saves time as well as reducing the mess, smell and risk associated with traditional deep fat frying. It has seven cooking functions and can be used for roasts, pizzas, grilled meat and fish, evenly cooked toasties and paninis and more.

The Cuisinart Cook In meanwhile sears, grills, sautés, steams, stews and simmers, creating homemade healthy meals for all the family, quickly and without fuss. It’s also great for entertaining and can be used for everything from a perfectly grilled steak with steamed greens to a classic chilli or spicy paella.

KILNER® SOLVES SNACKS ON THE GO

Whether it’s for travelling or heading out for the day, it’s all too easy to eat sugary or salty snacks in between meals. Kilner® has the answer with its Snack On The Go Jar Set – perfect for salad, fruit, granola, crudities or dressings and dips. The removable stainless steel cup keeps wet and dry contents separate while the screw top lids keep it all fresh.

KILNER® JARS TO DESIGN YOUR OWN DRINKS

Make your own flavourful cucumber, lime, lemon or orange infused water for hot summer days and serve from Kilner’s Clip Top Round Drinks Dispenser with its own tap, ideal for barbecues with family and friends.

MASON CASH SERVES IN STYLE

Ideal for summer get-togethers, this In The Forest Serving Board from Mason Cash is perfect for letting guests help themselves to healthy crudities such as cucumber and carrot as well as bread, tomatoes, quiche, sliced deli meats and cheeses. Made from bamboo with a design inspired by folk tales of the mid 19th century, it’s a sustainable option, too.

VINERS ADDS ELEGANCE TO TABLETOPS

For a table setting that looks as good as the food without breaking the bank, Viners’ Everyday Orbit 18/10 16-piece cutlery set has a subtle teardrop shaped handle, is rust-resistant, dishwasher-safe and includes four knives, forks, teaspoons and dessert spoons.

STEAMBOX LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST ELECTRIC LUNCHBOX

Using steam to cook hot meals on the go, Steambox can replace unhealthy takeaway snacks and lunches, cooking homemade meals in minutes while you’re on the move. Its rechargeable system heats up to three meals on one single charge. Simply pop your food in, fill the water container, add it to the heating element and set the timer. Food takes around 15 to 20 minutes to steam cook and there’s an app to control the device with recipe ideas and live tracking.
