Introducing new concepts from PWS and stunning oak flooring for that final flourish from Parador…

By

We have just seen some of the latest collections from distributor PWS and decided to take a closer look at some of the ideas, which range from sleek contemporary looks to classic Shaker-style designs.

A BOLD START WITH THE INDIGO AND BLACK MARQUINA FROM THE UNITY COLLECTION

The concept behind the Unity collection from PWS was to create an extensive choice of modern, made to measure slab doors which altogether are available in over 50 finishes, split within four collections. The doors are suited to kitchens, bedrooms and home-office/living spaces and there is also the opportunity for designers to specify angled and bespoke size doors to accommodate awkward spaces as well as catering for further creativity. There are two choices of edging, Matching and Two-Tone 3D Glass Effect. Shown above, Unity Indigo, Hayward Concrete and Black Marquina doors and panels.

REED GREEN AND NATURA OAK LINEAR DOORS FROM THE UNITY COLLECTION

The Unity collection is broken down into four further collection, Colour, Luxe Industrial, Stone and Woodgrain. This enables designers and their customers to create a highly individual kitchen from a wide choice of colours, textures and finishes that have all been curated to cover all concepts from the latest interior trends. The palettes are tonal and highly considered, allowing creative ideas to flow. Shown above, Reed Green and Natural Oak Linear from the Unity collection.

DARK DESIGNS … ONYX NERO AND BORDEAUX FROM THE UNITY COLOUR COLLECTION

As brown and rust shades continue to enjoy a new lease of life, it’s refreshing to see ‘new’ darker statement shades introduced into kitchen collections, alongside the still popular bold navy blues and greys. Ryan Smith, Product Designer PWS says ‘Darker kitchens are great for providing a high-end visual appeal, guaranteed to create a dramatic impact for those brave enough!’ Here the jewel-like tone of Bordeaux is teamed with Onyx Nero and is shown in the Deluxe Supermatt finish. Other option finishes available include High Gloss. Samples are available to order here.

A LIGHTER TOUCH – NATURAL OAK MONTANE AND LIGHT GREY SUPERMATT FROM UNITY WOODGRAIN

Woodgrain designs have tactile interest and are unlikely to ever go out of style – and newest slab designs include distinctive patterning which is suitable for a whole host of projects. Whether the home in question is an apartment which could embrace a natural/neutral Scandi influence to a more rustic country home that needs an updated kitchen with traditional timber influences, these woodgrains would fit the bill. Shown here, Natural Oak Montane combined with discreet, barely-there Light Grey wall cabinets in Supermatt finish. Take a closer look at Natural Oak Montane here.

LUXE INDUSTRIAL … WITH EIGHT METALLIC AND THREE CONCRETE EFFECT LOOKS IN THE UNITY COLLECTION

Metallic and stone finishes are increasingly popular, and once again are good choices for adding accents and definition to larger areas, without going all-in for one look. Here there are three door finishes used together for maximum effect, Banham Concrete, Black Liner Woodgrain and Brushed Champagne. All three Brushed Metallic finishes in the Unity Collection are exclusive to PWS, and are Brushed Champagne, Brushed Bronze and Brushed Anthracite.

BACK TO BROWN WITH LINEAR TOBACCO OAK, MOCHA PIETRA AND LUXE BRONZE METALLIC FROM UNITY

The Stone Collection within the wider Unity Collection provides a high-end look within an affordable budget for clients and designers who want to create a luxury look. There are three Stone colourways and three styles of veining, echoing existing trends within the latest looks in natural stone and marble finishes. Shown here, Mocha Pietra, with Linear Tobacco Oak and Luxe Bronze Metallic. Take a closer look here at Mocha Pietra.

POPULAR PAINTED TO ORDER COLOURS FROM PWS INCLUDE CRATHORNE IN TAUPE GREY NOW AVAILABLE FROM STOCK

The paint to order palette had a very high demand for particular colours, across several ranges, so those high popularity colours are now available from stock in three designs, Crathorne, Mornington Shaker and Mornington Beaded. Shown here, Crathorne in Taupe Grey. Ryan Smith, Product Designer, PWS says ‘Taupe Grey is the perfect transitional colour to be used on it’s own. Customers have begun to move away from stark whites and cool-tone greys towards softer tones which provide a feeling of warmth and elegance’.

HIGH DEMAND SHADES SUCH AS REGIMENT, A BOLD GREEN, ADDED TO THE STOCK RANGES FROM PWS

Regiment green is a beautiful shade in the colour palette, offering natural definition to a scheme that can be both contemporary and traditional. Ryan Smith, Product Designer PWS says ‘Mid-tone greens and warm neutrals remain extremely popular within the kitchen landscape, creating a calm environment with nature-inspired hues’ Shown here with Taupe Grey cabinets glimpsed on the island, the look is calming and welcoming. PWS also offers a full collection of Blum components including drawer inserts, and pre-assembled individual drawers and multi-drawer packs for ease of ordering. Shown here, Mornington Beaded in Regiment.

NEW THREE-HOLE TAP FROM CAPLE

The new, ultra-stylish Joya tap from Caple is a three-hole design with two separate dial handles that feature a diamond-cut finish. This finish provides a better grip for wet hands, and there are five finishes available, black steel, gold, stainless steel, gunmetal and copper. Shown here in Gold finish, and can be used with the Eco/Aerator1.

ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING FROM PARADOR FOR AN UPLIFTING SCHEME WITH NATURAL INFLUENCES

We’ve been looking at engineered wood flooring options, and have admired some of the latest concepts from Parador. Engineered wood is a good choice for high-traffic family homes, and can be considered an environmentally friendly choice. The new collection includes 30 designs, including herringbone planks, light-washed greys, and rich, dark shades. This is Oak Smoked Handscraped Brushed with a four-sided bevel and a natural oiled finish.

CLASSIC ENGINEERED TUSCAN OAK FROM PARADOR

For a very classic look that will work in a traditional home with a spacious glass extension or equally, a contemporary apartment, consider Tuscan Oak which has a Chevron format, a matt lacquer finish and a four-sided mini-bevel finish. Suited for installation with underfloor heating, and a 25-year warranty.

MOPPING UP TIME! WITH THE SPRAY MOP FROM BONA

Looking at my engineered oak flooring in the sunlight I realised that it needed a really good clean! I’m happy to get the steam cleaner out for all the tiles, but decided to try out the latest Spray Mop from Bona, the Swedish flooring experts for the oak. The Bona Premium Cleaning System includes the wide-head mop, which is extremely sturdy and easy to clip together, plus a cleaning solution which is pH-neutral, water based, and GREENGUARD GOLD certified to erase 99% of bacteria from wood and other hard-floor surfaces. Well … half an hour later my engineered oak which hadn’t been properly cleaned for rather a long time (it’s been vacuumed regularly though!) looks like new. I’m very impressed indeed and will continue to use it to keep the oak looking tip-top. It’s great to know that the cleaning solution is pet-safe and suited to varnished, waxed or oiled wood floors, and brings back the natural shine quickly and easily.
