HOOVER GOES WiFi

By

Earlier this month at London’s Saatchi Gallery, Hoover unveiled the UK’s first family of WiFi enabled appliances, Hoover Wizard. The event attracted over 100 guests, who enjoyed presentations, live demos and a specially choreographed performance from The Dance Mob.

The revolutionary product line includes a 13kg washing machine and 16 place setting dishwasher, as well as a frost-free fridge-freezer, 78-litre multifunction oven, induction hob and chimney hood, enabling consumers to have a fully-connected WiFi kitchen that they can control remotely via one single app.

The collection can be simultaneously controlled, monitored and managed via an app that can be downloaded to Windows PC/desktop, Google Play, Android devices from 4.0 onwards or Apple devices from iOS 7 or later. The app enables users to monitor energy consumption, have access to favourite programmes, receive alert messages and view the status of their appliances and programmes while on the go.

“With our new Wizard range, there is no longer the need to be at home to stay in control,” explains Steve Macdonald of Hoover UK. “Anyone using the appliances can preheat the oven from their desk, put a wash on while walking the dog or even wash the dishes from the gym.”

There are 13 appliances in total to choose from with features including A+++ energy efficiency, super silent technology, touch display, soft close door and large capacities.

Wizard goes on sale in September and while prices are yet to be announced, they are said to be ‘affordable’.

As part of the Wizard event, Hoover announced that it was launching on social media for the first time with its Twitter channel, @Hoover_UK, offering followers the latest news, promotions and domestic tips.

The company also unveiled the results of a brand new independent survey, which offers a range of insights into UK households, and highlights that 40 per cent of Brits would be interested in operating their appliances remotely via WiFi.
