The little things… how to spruce up your kitchen this summer

By

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter. With summer well and truly upon us at last, with any luck we won’t be spending too much time in the kitchen. But that doesn’t stop us wanting to make it as stylish and as functional as possible. This month we’ve picked our favourite little things to give your space something extra. From cookware and cutlery to utensils and recycling, here are a few ideas to tempt you this May…

OUR PLACE LAUNCH THE ALWAYS PAN® 2.0

Remember the pan that nearly broke the internet? Three years ago, the Always Pan® was everywhere. It sold out 30 times, had a waiting list of over 60,000 and swiftly became a huge hit with cooks, influencers and pretty much everybody, including myself, with its 8-in-1 design. Well now there’s a new version, the Always Pan® 2.0, which comes in eight stunning colours and is now made of 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium. It’s also even more multifunctional, replacing up to 10 pieces of traditional cookware, saving you time, space and money. There’s a new and improved toxin-free non-stick Thermakind™ ceramic coating that’s 50% longer lasting and exclusive to Our Place, the makers of the Always Pan®, and it’s also now oven-safe to 230˚C.

VINERS’ EVERYDAY CUTLERY SUITS ALL OCCASIONS

Laying the table with some swanky new cutlery breathes new life into dining, both indoors and out. Viners’ Everyday collections are really affordable and look beautiful for everything from casual breakfasts and brunch to family meals and entertaining friends this summer. Check out the 18/10 stainless steel Everyday Breeze, Purity, Orbit and Glisten, which are all rust-resistant and dishwasher-safe.

THE US FINAMILL ELECTRIC GRINDER IS NOW AVAILABLE IN THE UK

One of Oprah’s favourite gadgets, the FinaMill electric grinder has found its way from the US into our UK kitchens and makes grinding spices so so simple. Just one push of a button is all it takes and you’ll have freshly ground spices to pep up your summer salads, roasts, bakes and more. It comes in six colours – Sangria, Midnight Black, Sage, Salmon, Stone and Soft Cream – and gives the goodness of freshly ground spices, no matter what size, shape or hardness the spice is. Along with the mill, you also get two FinaPod PRO Plus pods for the spices.

MISSPRINT LAUNCHES NEW HOMEWARE

We love a new homeware collection so were thrilled to see that British wallpaper design studio MissPrint® has a whole new range for summer dining, which includes tableware and textiles. Splash out on a complete set or pick ‘n’ mix to add to existing pieces. Iconic patterns synonymous with the brand have been reimagined into fine china tableware, plates, coasters, cotton textiles and placemats, taking inspiration from contemporary graphics and mid-century modern style.

ELEGANT TABLESCAPES ARE EASY WITH PROCOOK’S MALMO TABLEWARE

If you love to take a snap of your carefully curated summer dining for Instagram and other socials, another winner is ProCook’s new Malmo collection of teardrop and plain white pieces. Use for family get togethers, entertaining and everyday dining, indoors and out. Sarah Savery-Smith, Brand Director for ProCook, says that when it comes to place settings, cutlery and glassware, this is where you can have fun and inject some of your own personality and style into your tablescape.

“Don’t be afraid to mix and match when it comes to style and designs – just stick to your colour palette and overall theme for a consistent look. For a swoon-worthy look, layer up and utilise varying levels and heights with placemats, crockery, and glasses. Once the places have been set, complete the display with a few final details. Beautifully displayed napkins can make all the difference and are a great addition for added texture.
